A Warwick teenager who allegedly exposed himself to women in their own home and a busy public park will soon face court on a stack of charges, as police continue to battle an escalating crime wave across the town.

Police claim the 14-year-old let himself into a Alice St home at about 7pm on February 7, asking the single woman inside for a cup of water and a lighter for his cigarette.

It will be alleged he then exposed his genitals to the woman before fleeing the scene on foot.

Police say the teenager is responsible for another reported act of indecent exposure at the Warwick Riverwalk earlier this month.

The Warwick boy now faces six charged of indecent acts with intent to assault or offend and one each of burglary, entering a dwelling with intent to commit an offence, and possessing drug utensils.

He is due to appear in Warwick Children’s Court in the coming weeks.

It comes as Warwick has recorded a massive spike in crime and property-related offending within the past few weeks.

Police are yet to charge anyone in relation to the half-dozen car thefts and break-ins reported this week alone, including four within only 24 hours.

Recent reports have also included luxury cars being stolen from Warwick homes and dumped hundreds of kilometres away, and graffiti scrawled on power poles and cars across the Rose City.

Residents are being urged to audit their home security and ensure all doors, windows, and vehicles can be locked with car keys hidden away.

Warwick police acting officer-in-charge Cameron Slater said on Thursday that a group of young offenders was thought to be linked to a sizeable amount of the crimes in both Warwick and neighbouring towns.

“If anyone sees any youngsters in particular loitering around, just ring the police and ring triple-0 if they have to,” he said.

Officers are also still racing to track down the man believed to be responsible for a shocking public shooting in broad daylight on a busy Warwick street.

Police say a small silver sedan or hatchback pulled up beside Warwick man Jason Martin while he was standing on a footpath along Wallace St, and a man inside the car fired a single shot before driving off.

The 37-year-old victim was taken to Warwick Hospital before being flown to Princess Alexandra Hospital for surgery, where he remains in a critical but stable condition.

It is believed the two men were known to one another before the attack. No one has been taken into custody or charged over the incident at this stage.

Anyone with relevant information to any of these incidents is urged to contact Warwick police on 4660 4444 or Policelink on 13 14 44.
