National healthcare group Doctors & Co to call the Rose City home after signing lease on Home & Life precinct

The final tenant for Warwick’s newest shopping precinct can be revealed as something residents have been demanding for years.

The final store joining the impressive new Warwick shopping precinct can finally be revealed, and it’s something Rose City residents have been wanting for years.

The Albion St complex already hosts four national chain stores, including Anytime Fitness, Cafe 63 and BCF, and recently it was announced that Petbarn would also be joining the line-up.

National healthcare group Doctors & Co will be calling the Rose City complex home, after just signing a lease with Colliers who confirmed the move on Wednesday.

Business records reveal the new tenants registered their ABN “Doctors & Co Warwick Pty Ltd” on October 2.

The business wrote on Facebook “we are committed to providing our patients with a personalised and comprehensive healthcare experience. We will work with you to develop a treatment plan that is right for your individual needs”.

“We are a new, state-of-the-art medical practice located in the heart of Warwick. Our team of experienced and compassionate doctors and nurses is dedicated to providing our patients with the highest quality healthcare.”

Doctors & Co was established more than five years ago with one doctor in a small GP practice in NSW, with “a mission to enhance the quality and accessibility of healthcare services across Australia”.

Now, their network has hundreds of health professionals in more than 35 sites on the east coast of Australia.

It’s a positive move for Warwick, which has struggled for many years due to regional GP and healthcare worker shortages, and months-long wait times all to common in recent memory.

Condamine Medical Centre co-owner Lynton Hudson said the key factor behind Warwick’s GP shortage was not attracting younger doctors but keeping them in the area, the doctor said in 2021.

“Our biggest issue is retention. One of the biggest things that we know is the people who will stay out here are people who come from country areas,” Dr Hudson said.

“The second thing, which I think is the case in a lot of professional jobs, is the partner, which I never really see discussed anywhere, but it’s a huge factor.”

It is expected the new medical centre will open before the end of the year.

Doctors & Co has been approached for comment.
