A Downs man who allegedly assaulted a police officer while resisting arrest is set to learn his fate in a handful of days as more details about his alleged offending come to light.
Clayton Zane Murphy did not appear in person as his matters were mentioned in Warwick Magistrates Court on Monday, 9 October.
Mr Murphy is facing nine charges, ranging from serious assault (assault/resist/obstruct police officer), weapon possession, two counts of drug possession, obstruct police officer, possess used utensils and more.
The 31-year-old has not yet entered a plea for the charges.
Police allege that Mr Murphy assaulted a police officer during what should have been a routine job, with the police officer allegedly bitten.
On Monday, police prosecutor Sergeant Steve di Lissa confirmed further information had been sent to the investigating police officer in relation to “the biting allegation” to ascertain how much skin was broken by the action.
Mr Murphy is expected to return to court on October 23.
