Nova Nails Studio crowned top on the Sunshine Coast by readers

The results are in and the Sunshine Coast’s nail technicians who really sparkle can be revealed. See who readers named as the region’s best.

The Sunshine Coast’s best nail technician has been crowned by readers after five days of voting.

Nova Nails Studio in Buderim was the winner with 24 per cent of votes.

Tyler and Caroline Richards opened the studio in late 2020.

Mr Richards said his wife taught all their staff and apprentices and has provided training within the nail and beauty industry.

The couple intend to launch courses in the future and hope to expand to other suburbs, Mr Richards said.

Mr Richards said they had no idea they would be voted as winners and they were “a little gobsmacked”.

He said they love the variety of every day – from meeting new people or catching up with their regulars.

“It really does make our day when our customers and our regulars have a smile on their face, they are happy to come in and have a chat and get their service done,” he said.

They were very thankful to everyone who voted for their studio.

The studio who narrowly came in second place at 19 per cent with 11 votes was Manicure Nail Studio, run by T’Neil Tonkin.

Formerly doing nails as a hobby, Ms Tonkin has turned her creative flare into a full-time job and has had many opportunities for herself and her family since moving her salon to the Sunshine Coast.

“We used to live in Caboolture where I was doing nails as a hobby, fast forward 12 months and we now live on the Sunshine Coast and my hobby has turned into a full-time job enabling me to provide for my family,” she said.

Hannah from Lush Nails and Lashes came in at third place.
