A Sunshine Coast man is set to face court next month after allegedly spitting on a woman during a viral road rage incident caught on video.

A Sunshine Coast man is set to face court next month after allegedly spitting on a woman in a vile road rage incident caught on video.

The video posted to social media captured the moment a man allegedly spat on a woman during a road rage incident on River Esplanade in Maroochydore earlier this month.

In the video, the man is shown to be riding a motorbike past the open window of a vehicle before spitting into the driver’s face.

A man has been charged over a vile road rage incident on the Sunshine Coast last month.

Another man in a blue shirt and bucket hat is seen confronting the motorcyclist, before he is punched in the head on a nearby footpath.

Police confirmed they have since charged a 47-year-old Maroochydore man with common assault over the incident.

The driver, a 42-year-old Mooloolaba woman, and her passenger were not injured during the attack.

The 47-year-old is due to appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Friday, December 6.
