Police have released CCTV footage of the last known movements of missing Mermaid Waters man Edan Huntington, as the second month anniversary of his disappearance looms.

Edan was last seen on the Sunshine Coast in mid-January and Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast police have inquired at local and interstate hospitals, airports, train and bus stations, banks and phone companies.

In the footage, released on Tuesday, Edan is seen barefoot and wearing a blue shirt, black shorts and a white cap with black sunglasses. His car, a dark grey Ford Territory with NSW registration CQG59F, is pictured in the driveway before Edan leaves in it.

Police would like to speak to a woman who was seen shortly after 4am on January 18, walking along Main Street Montville, near Hoffman Court.

The woman is described as being aged in her late 30s or early 40s, dark long hair which was tied back wearing a white shirt and maroon and purple shorts with a black bag.

Edan Huntington has been missing since January 18 after driving off from a holiday rental in Montville.

Detective Senior Sergeant Craig Mansfield of Maroochydore CIB told the media on March 13 that witnesses had told police Edan’s car was seen parked in the middle of the road facing north. The woman was seen within 100m of the vehicle.

“We’re really trying to fill in the gaps as to what she saw and or heard or if she engaged in any conversation whatsoever,” he said.

Edan’s last known phone call was to emergency services, approximately five minutes before the woman was seen near his car, Detective Mansfield said.

It was the second call he had made to emergency services in two days. He asked for help and told the operator he was lost.

The Ford Territory is yet to be found and has not appeared on any Queensland police or number plate recognition systems since before Edan disappeared, Detective Mansfield said.

He described the situation as a “needle in a haystack” but said police are not treating it as suspicious.

Edan was potentially under the influence at the time, he said, and appeared to be “semi-agitated” when he left the Montville address in his car.

Police remain in constant communication with Edan’s family and friends, who have not seen or heard from him since his disappearance.

Police urge the woman or anyone who has seen Edan or his vehicle or has any information which could assist with this investigation, to contact police immediately.

Those with properties bordering Main Street, Flaxton Mill Rd, Flaxton Drive, Philips Rd and Obi Obi Rd are urged to check their land including at road access points and recesses for Edan or his car, including in heavy undergrowth.
