Nambour man Vincent Piscioneri pleads guilty to stealing woman’s underwear

Internet sleuths have cracked the case of a notorious public masturbator who was captured on video fleeing from a Sunshine Coast home after stealing several pairs of women’s undies.

A Nambour cleaner has cried after he was told he will be released on parole after he walked into a woman’s home and stole her undies before fleeing the scene.

The frightened victim, however, had the initiative to videotape Vincent Michael Piscioneri escaping during the crazed caper before she plastered his face on a local Nambour social media page to find him.

Police prosecutor Stu Lydford told the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Tuesday the victim was at her home about 5pm on February 25 when she heard her dog bark obsessively downstairs.

Sergeant Lydford said she realised someone was in the house and called out to whoever it was to leave.

Piscioneri bolted from underneath the house with four pairs of undies the victim had recently purchased after other pairs were previously stolen.

The court heard the victim filmed the Nambour man on her phone as he fled.

Sergeant Lydford said the victim took her concerns to the “Living at Nambour” Facebook group where comments from her post identified Piscioneri. She reported the matter to police the following day.

On February 26, police raided the 52-year-old’s home and found the clothes he was wearing in the video and charged him with entering a dwelling to commit an offence.

The court heard Piscioneri had similar offences on his record, including public masturbation incidents in 2022 and 2024, the most recent where he was found touching himself in a garden shed in underwear, while covered in vegetable oil.

Sergeant Lydford said his offences breached the suspended sentence given to him in February.

“Why is it you do this,” Magistrate Haydn Stjernqvist asked Piscioneri.

The part time cleaner, who represented himself from custody by video link, said he was abusing drugs after the death of a friend but “strangely enough” began to feel human again while being drug free in “this hellhole”, or in custody.

Mr Stjernqvist said there were obvious issues at play for the 52-year-old, and told Piscioneri he was scaring “the hell” out of people going about their business in their own homes and yards.

“This is punishable by life imprisonment, you know that,” the magistrate told Piscioneri.

“Jesus Christ,” Piscioneri replied in sheer disbelief.

The 52-year-old pleaded guilty and was sentenced to four months’ jail and had his suspended sentence activated, but with 57 days in custody acknowledged as time served, it meant Piscioneri would be released on parole on Tuesday.

“You’re releasing me on parole … you’re kidding me,” the Nambour man said as he shed tears of joy.

“Stay away from clotheslines,” Mr Stjernqvist said.
