Brutal Noosa fight caught on camera

A 24-year-old Meridan Plains mother took opportunism to a whole new level after she stole a Mercedes Benz while its owner stopped to pick up Thai Food.

Maroochydore Magistrates Court heard Lauren Maree Rosin had been walking in Windsor on the evening of June 8, 2021 when she came across a Mercedes Benz on the street.

Police prosecutor Michael Quirk said the vehicle’s owner had briefly parked her vehicle outside a Thai restaurant to pick up her takeaway and left the keys in the ignition.

Mr Quirk said Rosin decided to drive off with the Mercedes and its owner came outside to find it stolen.

On June 10 the 24-year-old had been driving along the Bruce Hwy in Burpengary when she crashed the luxury car into a construction area, the court heard.

The court was told Rosin had left the scene on foot and was spotted walking along Old Gympie Rd upset when a member of the public called paramedics and police.

The remaining charges related to the theft of a hotel key card on June 9, using stolen plates on June 10, and three breaches of bail on June 16, June 18, and June 21.

Magistrate Maxine Baldwin said the Mercedes Benz owner could’ve been getting a disabled child from inside the shop before Rosin took the car during her “deplorable behaviour”.

Rosin pleaded guilty to two counts of stealing, unlawful use of a car, three breaches of bail and possessing tainted property and was sentenced to six months’ jail, suspended for two years.
