Police appeal after truck and Hyundai collide in Maryborough

Police are seeking public assistance after a serious traffic crash on the Bruce Highway in Maryborough.
A blue Hyundai Getz travelling north on the highway collided with a Western Star truck near the intersection with Alma Street in Maryborough, just after midday on Friday, June 27.
The driver and sole occupant of the Hyundai was a 54-year-old Maroochydore man, who was transported to Maryborough Hospital for treatment.
The truck driver, a 52-year-old Gympie man, suffered no physical injuries, and was understood to have been towing timber.
Investigators from the Wide Bay Burnett Forensic Crash Unit are appealing to any witnesses or anyone with dashcam vision of the Hyundai prior to the crash to come forward.
As of June 29, investigations remain ongoing, police said.
