Police have arrested a man in Buderim after allegedly finding several illegal items in his bag following reports of his threats near a property on King Street.
About 4.40pm on June 28, QPS alleged they received reports of a 37-year-old Loganlea man, already wanted over other matters, armed and making threats near a King Street address.
A few minutes after police arrived, the man tried to leave the address in a nearby vehicle but was intercepted on foot and arrested.
During a search of the man’s bag, police allegedly found a homemade firearm, a taser, a meat cleaver, and several other items.
The 37-year-old Loganlea man has been charged with two counts of unlawful possession of a weapon, one count of possession of a knife in a public place, possessing dangerous drugs, fail to take reasonable care of a syringe, and lacking authority required to possess explosives.
The man was refused police bail and is due to appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on June 30.
