Shocking footage of a massive group of shirtless eshays fighting outside the front of a beloved waterfront venue has emerged online.

A Sunshine Coast social media account recently shared a video of a large group of mostly shirtless eshays fighting each other outside of Crazy Matt’s Mooloolaba – along the Mooloolaba esplanade.

The video was posted with the caption “Looked like the pit of a metal show for a sec there haha”.

Staff at Crazy Matt’s Mooloolaba confirmed they were not aware of the fight and no damage had been sustained.

Queensland Police have confirmed the footage was from February 3, 2024, at 11.50pm.

A police spokeswoman said five teens were facing public nuisance charges.

One 15-year-old and four 16 year olds were charged.

Police are still investigating the matter. No other charges have been laid.

This follows a surge in public fights and incidents across South East Queensland.

Just last week footage emerged of a partying ‘eshay’ on the Sunshine Coast attacking and kicking an elderly man with a walking stick outside a popular nightclub.

A deep-dive into Queensland’s eshay culture revealed many people who have been to a train station or shopping centre were likely to have come across an eshay.

Often sporting bum bags, polo shirts, mullets, tracksuit pants and sneakers, eshays are often groups of young men.
