Garage fire threatened Sunshine Coast home

Seven crews from the Queensland Fire Department rushed to a Sunshine Coast suburb after a garage fire threatened to spread to a nearby home.

Firefighters rushed to a Sunshine Coast suburb on Monday night after a garage fire threatened a nearby home.

Seven crews from the Queensland Fire Department attended Werona St, Buddina on June 16, just after 7pm after reports of a garage fire.

A QFD spokeswomen said when crews arrived they found the fire moving into the property’s house and crews began work to contain it.

“The fire entered into the house ceiling space, but that was the extent,” the spokeswoman said.

All residents were outside the structure and the blaze was out by 8pm.

Fire investigators will attend the scene later today.
