An American inspired cafe in the heart of Noosa has opened on the back of a successful catering business offering fine dining and food trucks.

Vault Espresso in Noosaville sold out of their cabinet food after a wave of hungry punters flowed through their rustic industrial cafe on Monday November 28.

Owners Rebecca and Woody Theuerl were blown away by the “unbelievable turnout” confirming their move into hospitality from catering was a good call.

Ms Theuerl said since the growth of their business Vanteen Catering since 2016, the cooking duo felt their expansion could only move forward if they acquired a large commercial kitchen.

The project Ave industrial estate site has become Vault Espresso’s home after the idea of a coffee spot “snowballed”.

The Cootharaba couple, who specialise in catering from food trucks to fine dining, said their cafe food draws on American inspirations.

“I think the Ruben (sandwiches) sets us apart, they flew out the door,” Mrs Theuerl said.

“Just the sheer size of the sandwiches, they’re big, proper sandwiches that everyone’s been searching for which is our point of difference.

“Along with that, we sold out of all of our cafe style cabinet food and we still had an hour left of trading.”

Their rustic look goes hand-in-hand with the location at an industrial estate, where they have several staff to cope with the demand.

Vault Espresso is open 6am to 2pm Monday to Friday and closed on weekends to coincide with their catering.
