Whoever thought Churchie old boy-made-good Cameron Dick could ever possibly be a trendsetter?

Yet the former Attorney-General to Tuvalu, now the Queensland Treasurer, has taken to pinning the State Government’s 56-page “economic plan” to his breast whenever a camera is around.
And the fashion accessory has caught on, with Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk, Health Minister Steven Miles and Transport Minister Mark Bailey all snapped striking a similar pose with the “plan”.
Dick obviously subscribes to the theory that imitation is the greatest form of flattery, taking to Twitter this week to talk up his trend setting.
“I never go anywhere without the Palaszczuk Government’s $8 billion COVID economic recovery plan,” he enthused.
How Dick manages to keep COVID safe and wash his hands while keeping a firm grip of his plan remains a bit of a mystery, but he’s a stickler for rules our Treasurer, so we’re confident he’s managing somehow.
Yet maybe this all goes some way to explaining why Queenslanders were denied a proper Budget and a full look at the finances before the October 31 state election.
It would be awfully difficult for the Government’s Treasurer 3.0 to lug around a complete set of Budget papers everywhere he goes.
Maybe all that red ink wasn’t in his colour wheel.
