The South Burnett has been named Australia’s “most hospitable” to its guests, with the highest density of five star reviews on Airbnb.
Airbnb properties in the region received 94 per cent of the five-star reviews in the past 12 months across Australia.
Coming in second and third place were the Huon Valley and Latrobe, both in Tasmania.
The Southern Downs was the only other Queensland region on the list of 10 locations coming in ninth place overall.
It comes after an upgrade to Airbnb’s platform to include revamped ratings and reviews to help guests understand the quality of every listing.
Airbnb co-founder and CEO Brian Chesky said Airbnb properties had not always met guests expectations.
“People often describe checking into an Airbnb as a ‘moment of truth’, when you find out if the home you booked meets your expectations,” he said.
