Mt Rawdon mine owner providing support to miner and family following ‘significant’ workplace injury
The owner of the gold mine near Bundaberg, where a young mine worker sustained a “significant” injury in a horror workplace accident, has spoken out.

The owner of the Mount Perry gold mine has provided more details into the accident which led to a mine worker being rushed to hospital on Friday evening.
It comes after paramedics said the worker’s foot had been crushed between two pieces of steel weighing approximately 300kg.
An Evolution Mining spokesman said on Saturday the Mt Rawdon gold mine employee’s foot became “wedged within an area of the processing facility during routine maintenance”.
The spokesman said paramedics were called immediately following the accident, and the employee was now in a stable condition in Bundaberg Hospital with severe swelling to his foot.
“Support is being provided to the individual and their family,” they said
“Mt Rawdon Operations has notified the relevant Queensland authorities and is fully co-operating into an investigation into the circumstances of the incident.”
A QAS spokeswoman said the employee, a man aged in his 20s, was flown to Bundaberg Hospital around 10.48pm on Thursday in a stable condition following the accident on Swindon Rd in Mt Perry.
