Woman flown to hospital after car crashes into tree in Harlin

A man and woman have been freed from the wreckage of a car that crashed off the D’Aguilar Highway east of Kilcoy, with at least one person airlifted with life threatening injuries.

A car towing a caravan crashed into a tree on the D’Aguilar Highway in Harlin on Wednesday afternoon, causing road closures and significant injuries.

Two people, a man and a woman, who were initially trapped were freed from the wreckage by emergency services, and a woman airlifted to Brisbane with life threatening injuries.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said the highway was still blocked at 3pm.

Emergency crews responded around 1:37pm, with the first patient freed by 1:55pm and the second by 2pm.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said the woman who was trapped had arm and head injuries and was flown to The Royal Brisbane Women's Hospital with life threatening injuries.

The man was still being assessed in a stable condition.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
