TK Maxx to open at Stockland Rockhampton in September

American retail giant TK Maxx which promises ‘big brands at small prices’ will be opening at Stockland Rockhampton along with Timezone. Check out the grand opening prizes.

The new Rockhampton store will be the 67th TK Maxx store in the country, and the 24th store in Queensland.Â

The boards around TK Maxx at Stockland Rockhampton will be coming down next month as the store opens to the public on September 16.

TK Maxx arrived in Australia in 2017 with the new Rockhampton store making the 67th store in the country, and the 24th store in Queensland.

The American retail giant operates on a model of “big bands at small prices”, stocking a range of products from women, mens and children fashion, accessories, beauties, toys and homewares.

The Rockhampton store is 1,800 sqm and will employed 50 staff.

The store is located in the former H&M space, which has been split with Timezone who will open in mid-September.

There will also be another two speciality stores which have not been revealed yet.

TK Maxx Australia spokesperson Tony Dunseath said the company was pleased to be expanding its presence in Queensland.

“We are thrilled to bring TK Maxx to shoppers in Rockhampton. Every TK Maxx store offers a different assortment of brands and products and the selection changes constantly, so there will always be something fresh and exciting to discover.”

Stockland Rockhampton centre manager Elysia Billingham said the centre was pleased to welcome such a highly respected brand like TK Maxx to the centre.

“Our team has been working hard to not only secure the best variety of retailers for our customers, but also the ones that they’re asking for. It’s part of our commitment to creating the best customer experience possible” she said.

TK Maxx operates has more than 600 stores across seven countries – the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Poland, Austria, the Netherland and Australia.

The current Queensland stores are in Cairns, Townsville, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and Hervey Bay.

Grand opening on Thursday September 16, from 9am

First 3,000 customers will receive a free reusable tote bag and there will be a Hidden Hanger competition on opening weekend with a thousand dollars’ worth of gift cards to win.

Monday, Tuesday Wednesday and Friday: 9am to 5.30pm

Thursday: 9am to 9pm

Saturday: 9am to 5.00pm

Sunday: 10am to 4pm
