Work is well underway at Stockland Rockhampton for the construction of a new 100-space childcare centre.
National franchise Green Leaves Early Learning will be opening on the site of the former Colonial Mart complex, near Mandalay Medical Centre.
The facility will cater for up to 100 children from six weeks to six years and all meals and nappies will be provided.
There will also be a barista hub for parents to receive complimentary coffee and baked treats.
The centre will employ 18 full-time staff.
The main building includes various rooms, outdoor play areas and a 31-space car park.
Green Leaves Early Learning has 40 centres across Australia, with centres in Gladstone and Mackay.
On its website, the privately owned business states it ‘does things differently’ and its purpose is to provide early education and care that exceeds traditional care and education standards.
The company, which is partnered with Stockland, says ‘all of our spacious centres are purpose built so we can strike the perfect balance between providing innovative early education experiences and meeting the needs of the communities we operate in’.
Construction for the project has been reported to be tracking well and is on schedule for the centre to be open by early 2022.
