Rockhampton Regional Council development application approvals for December to February 2022

Childcare centres, a service station, unit developments, subdivisions and more have been approved by Rockhampton Regional Council in the past three months. SEE THE FULL LIST HERE.

New developments of all types have been approved by Rockhampton Regional Council in the Past few months.

DECEMBER APPROVALS:

  • New child care centre: 50 Main Street, Park Avenue

An 106-space childcare centre with a street front cafe open to the public has been approved.

It is for children aged zero to 36 months and will employ 19 staff.

  • Child care extension: 27 Ross, Allenstown

Genius Childcare is set to increase its capacity by 59 extra children in an extension of its Allenstown centre, taking its total capacity up to 132 children.

  • Six-unit development: 57 Elphinstone Street, Berserker

The development, which would include four, three-bedroom two-storey townhouses and two, one-bedroom studio style units, would be built at 57 Elphinstone Street, Berserker, just off Musgrave Street.

  • Psychology practice: 108 Albert Street, The Range

A psychology practice will operate from a home near the Hillcrest Hospital.

  • Telecommunications facility: 307 Farm Street, Norman Gardens
  • Showroom: 161 Berserker Street, Berserker
  • Service station: 16-18 Lawrie Street, Gracemere

Two homes would be demolished for a Pearl Energy service station to be built across from an existing BP in Gracemere.

  • Subdivision of 44 lots: Edenbrook, Parkhurst
  • Subdivision of three lots: 53199 Burnett Highway, Bouldercombe

JANUARY APPROVALS

  • Childcare centre (Kindergarten): 19 Ward Street and 52 Henry Street, The Range

A kindergarten is to be located adjacent to St Peter’s Catholic Primary School, on the site of a house which was purchased by the Catholic Diocese of Rockhampton in 2018.

Lighthouse Christian School’s student numbers are growing and the school could have to relocate to a new site to accommodate the future growth.

FEBRUARY APPROVALS:

  • Medium impact industry: 9 Werribee Street, Kawana

Resource recovery and transfer facility operation, storage of dangerous goods.

  • Subdivision of six lots: 185 and 187 Kerrigan Street, Frenchville
