A set of council-owned units went to auction last month.
Rockhampton Regional Council earmarked 190 Rush Street, Koongal for sale in a March 2021 meeting after robust discussions.
The property is made up of two two-bedroom units, rented for $350 a fortnight, and a three-bedroom unit, rented for $760 a fortnight.
It was reported in 2021 the annual revenue of the property was $24,750 and the maintenance costs over five years was $66,201.
The council has owned the property since it was constructed, and from 1991 to 2017 it was leased to Rockhampton Affordable Housing Limited for residential accommodation.
The lease was surrendered to the council after the closure of the scheme however from January 1, 2019, council was no longer recognised as a registered community housing provider under the National Regulatory System for Community Housing.
The tenants were provided with 12 months written notice in May 2021 that the property would be sold.
At the council meeting at the time, three properties were earmarked for sale and 13 for demolition.
The properties were acquired by the council through various means over the years and were said to be “end-of-life and require significant remedial or maintenance works in order to retain them”.
The combined value of the buildings in 2021 was reported to be $209, 837.
Rockhampton company BT Builders were awarded the council tender in July 2022 for $298,960 for the demolition and removal of the other properties.
The other properties for sale included 239 Rockonia Road, Koongal, and 15 Cooper Street, Koongal, which was sold by council in January 2022 for $165,000.
The Rush Street property went to auction on April 22 with Trent Neven of LJ Hooker Rockhampton.
It sold at auction for $790,000.
