An angry teenager who headbutted two glass windows in a drunken rage has faced court for his offending.

Gianni Santino Evans pleaded guilty in Biloela Magistrates Court on December 7 to wilful damage and failing to surrender into custody.

The court heard that a warrant was issued for the 18-year-old’s arrest after he failed to appear in court on November 9, with police later finding him at his home.

Police prosecutor Carl Spargo said on about 2.30am on March 2, Evans returned to a Biloela house after a night of drinking.

Sergeant Spargo said a woman woke up and Evans yelled at her before picking up a glass table and raising it above his head.

Evans then used the table to strike the roof three times, causing three holes.

“He (Evans) then headbutted two glass windows (at the front of the house) causing them to smash,” Sergeant Spargo said.

The court was told Evans suffered a cut to his head, and he was standing on the nature strip with “a large amount of blood” coming from the wound when police arrived.

He was taken to hospital and later charged.

Evans had no criminal history and the prosecution did not seek any restitution.

The unemployed man’s solicitor said he was “very intoxicated”at the time and had no memory.

Magistrate Philippa Beckinsale fined him $550 for his “pretty stupid” behaviour.

No conviction was recorded.
