Drink-drivers, drug-drivers, unlicensed drivers who faced Biloela Magistrates Court

Drink-drivers, drug-drivers and unlicensed drivers continue to get caught in numbers at Biloela, Theodore, Monto and Moura. Here’s who got busted.

The following people pleaded guilty in Biloela Magistrates Court recently to traffic offences.

Biloela Magistrates Court, November 23

Troy William Robert Berry, 26

Troy William Robert Berry blew a reading of .147 when he was caught drink-driving on the Dawson Highway at Biloela on October 17.

The court heard that Berry was a probationary licence holder at the time.

He also pleaded guilty to charges of obstructing police and contravening a police direction.

With no criminal history and no previous drink-driving offences, Berry was fined $1450 and disqualified from driving for seven months.

No criminal convictions were recorded.

Barbara Lee Oram, 40

Barbara Lee Oram was caught driving with cannabis in her system on the Burnett Highway at Orange Creek, on September 30.

With no prior offending of this sort, Oram was fined $350 and disqualified from driving for one month.

With no previous offending of this sort, the concreter was fined $350 and disqualified from driving for one month.

Jade James Smallwood, 37

Jade James Smallwood blew a reading of .069 when he was caught drink-driving on Gladstone Road at Biloela, on October 31.

With no offending of this sort in the past five years, Smallwood was fined $350 and disqualified from driving for one month.

Zacharie Alexander Bennett, 21

Zacharie Alexander Bennett was caught driving with cannabis in his system on the Leichhardt Highway at Theodore on September 14.

With no prior offending of this sort, Bennett was fined $350 and disqualified from driving for one month.

William Richard Boundy was caught driving with methamphetamines in his system on Rainbow Street, Biloela, on September 30.

The court heard that Boundy was on a probationary licence at the time.

With previous offending of this sort on his history, Boundy, a disability pensioner, was fined $350 and disqualified from driving for three months.

Jayden Thomas Harland was caught driving while unlicensed on the Leichhardt Highway at Theodore, on October 23.

With previous offending of this sort on his New South Wales traffic history, Harland was fined $150 and no licence disqualification was imposed.

William Shane Bernard Lanson, 31

William Shane Bernard Lanson was caught driving with methamphetamine and cannabis in his system on Kariboe Street, Biloela, on October 1.

With previous offending of this sort on his history, Lanson was fined $400 and disqualified from driving for three months.

Geoffrey Richard Smith, 55

Geoffrey Richard Smith was caught driving with cannabis in his system on Washpool Street, Biloela, on September 1.

With no previous offending of this sort, Smith was fined $350 and disqualified from driving for one month.

Gary Robert Spencer, 69

Gary Robert Spencer blew a reading of .059 when he was caught drink-driving on Flinders Street, Monto, on June 3.

With no previous similar offending, Spencer was fined $350 and disqualified from driving for one month.

Sherri-Leigh Scorgie, 35

Sherri-Leigh Scorgie was caught driving with methamphetamines and cannabis in her system at Moura on August 20.

With previous drug-driving offending on her history, Scorgie was fined $400 and disqualified from driving for three months.

Biloela Magistrates Court, November 9

Triston Carl Taylor, 37

Triston Carl Taylor blew a reading of .210 when he was caught drink-driving on the Dawson Highway on August 28.

He also pleaded guilty to disqualified driving, and driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle.

The court heard that Taylor was caught after he crashed his motor bike at 5.30pm.

Emergency services crews attended and he was taken to Moura Hospital.

With one previous drink-driving offence on his traffic history, Taylor was placed on probation for 18 months, fined $500, and disqualified from driving for three years.

Luke Jordan Beard, 40

Luke Jordan Beard was caught driving with cannabis in his system on the Burnett Highway at Orange Creek on July 10.

With a two-page traffic history, Beard was fined $550 and disqualified from driving for three months.
