A devastating fire that destroyed a home in Berserker last week is being treated as suspicious.

Fire crews were called to the corner of Edington and Dean Streets at 8.40pm on July 6.

Up to seven fire crews attended the scene of the Queenslander home that was fully engulfed.

The fire was contained just after 9pm and later reignited around 3am and fire crews returned to dampen down.

The cause of the fire has not been determined at this stage and fire investigators were to commence investigations on Friday.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said a crime scene was declared and that the house fire was being treated as suspicious.

On Monday, the spokeswoman said that no one had been arrested or charged over the fire.

No one was home at the time and it is believed the property was vacant.

The property last sold in 2006 for $182,000 and it appears to be an investment property as the owner has seven other houses in Rockhampton.

Charred timber and a collapsed structure were all that remained on Friday morning after the fire decimated the home.

It comes after another home was also destroyed in a fire in Biloela at the weekend.

The Collins St property, owned by the Department of Housing, was vacant at the time of the fire and the cause appeared to have been an electrical fault.
