Delay in case of truck driver charged over Raglan double fatal

There’s been an update in the case against a truck driver charged over a Bruce Highway crash that killed a Qld mother and her young son.

Two passengers in the Nissan Navara, 40-year-old Tracey Craig and her 13-year-old boy Corey died at the scene of the crash on the Bruce Highway at Raglan.

There has been a delay in the case of a truck driver charged over the Bruce Highway crash that killed mother and son Tracey and Corey Craig in Central Queensland.

Christian Leslie Murray, 30, had his case mentioned in Gladstone Magistrates Court on Monday, July 28.

He is charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death or grievous bodily harm.

Tracey, 40, and Corey, 13, were killed when their Nissan Navara was destroyed in a crash involving a truck at Raglan, between Gladstone and Rockhampton, on November 12, 2024.

Dad Steve, mum Tracey (pictured middle right) and sons Corey (pictured right) and Jayden Craig were on their way home to Calliope about 11pm on November 12 on the Bruce Highway at Raglan after attending an 8-ball pool competition in Rockhampton when they crashed. Tracey and Corey were killed, and Steve was badly injured.

In court on Monday, Mr Murray was not required to attend, and his lawyer appeared via phone, saying a forensic crash report had not yet been received.

Police prosecutor Jennifer Leach sought an adjournment to follow up on that.

Magistrate Mary Buchanan adjourned the matter to September 8 for committal mention and Mr Murray’s bail was enlarged.
