Panic stricken bride forgets bouquet but family dog steps in to save the day
Every bride needs a beautiful bouquet on her wedding day but Eileen almost went down the aisle empty handed when she left her flowers at home. Luckily Siu Bak the dog was on hand to save the day.

Thanks to some quick wit, she took a bridesmaid’s bouquet and walked down the aisle to meet her groom Phillip Ng.
The “bouquet-less” bridesmaid made her entrance with the ring bearer instead — Siu Bak the dog — who enjoyed himself immensely.
Eileen and Phillip, who live in Brisbane City, were high school students together at Rochedale’s Redeemer Lutheran College, but didn’t start dating until they met again later as adults.
Their wedding, at Sanctuary Cove, on the Gold Coast’s Hope Island, was planned around a silver and dusty blue theme, which made for a magical day.
The newly weds are now planning a 2020 honeymoon in Italy.
How did Phillip propose?
We were in the small mountain town of Grindlewald in Switzerland, and Phillip asked me to marry him while roasting marshmallows by the fire.

What made this uniquely your wedding?
We really put a lot of time and effort into the wedding and it was translated positively on the day. All the planning was worth it and the wedding was very relaxed and chilled. We were both able to wake up at a reasonable time in the morning and the events throughout the day weren’t rushed.
The decor and presentation for everything from ceremony to reception really helped make it ‘our’ wedding too.
Special memories?
The speeches were very touching. Phil’s best man, Peter, was very comedic as he dug up some ancient photos of me and Phil in Year 6 (which I had no recollection of).
Josh, a groomsman, also gave a witty speech, and my father’s speech radiated his happiness of our union, which was very unusual for him as he’s quite an uptight man.
Best advice for other couples planning a wedding?
Focus on what will make you happy on the day. It can be really easy to get distracted and try to please all your guests and family members, but it’s important to remember it’s your day and you need to plan it the way you want it to be.
