Bride and groom wouldn’t get hitched without their blue staffy dog, Indie, by their side
Inviting their beloved blue staffy, Indie, to their wedding was a no-brainer for Kelly and Brendan. The dog even got to pose for photos.

Not many pets get a wedding invite. But blue staffy Indie was a VIP guest when Kelly Gaffney and Brendan Scheiwe tied the knot overlooking the mountains and coastline at Summergrove Estate, NSW.

How our engagement party suddenly became a wedding
‘Antipasto platter made me late for my wedding!’
The couple, of Camp Hill, in Brisbane’s southeast, have been together 10 years after meeting at a mutual friend’s 18th birthday.
Brendan surprised Kelly with wedding bands engraved with “B & K” and their wedding date. Following the ceremony, the newlyweds celebrated with 65 loved ones at a sit down reception.
How did Brendan propose?
Brendan proposed on New Year’s Day 2017 on Ballina Beach, while we were holidaying with friends.
Theme?
Simplistic styling with lots of green foliage and white florals.
First dance?
You Make it Easy (Jason Aldean) and Everywhere (Tim McGraw).
Honeymoon?
Ten days in Seminyak, Bali.
What made this uniquely your wedding?
We had an attendant from First Class Pet Sitting bring our beloved blue staffy, Indie, to the wedding ceremony. I arranged for her to walk down the aisle as a surprise
for Brendan.
Also, Kelly wore a bouquet jewel with an image of her late grandmother in
a small photo memory charm.
Special memories?
We have many special memories but our favourite is having the bridal party photos taken while drinking champagne and using the golf buggies to travel around Summergrove Estate.
Funny moments?
Brendan did a “Russell Coight” dance upon entering the reception with Kelly.
Best advice for other couples planning
a wedding?
Don’t worry if something doesn’t go to plan on the day as the only person that will notice will be yourself and no one else.
