A well-known community member with ties to the education and country music community has been sentenced in court for a sex crime against a child.

A well-known educator and country music performer has been sentenced in court for a sex crime against a child.
Former Bremer State High School music teacher Morgan John Hann indecently treated a child under the age of 16 at Ipswich in 2019.
Hann was a also member of an alt-country band called the Suicide Swans which has three studio albums.
The child was not a student.
The 37-year-old North Ipswich man pleaded guilty to one charge of indecently treating a child under the age of 16 in September 2021.
In September the prosecution dropped two other charges against the man which were possessing child exploitation material and grooming.
The day after Hann was charged by police his teacher’s registration was suspended after working in the sector for at least 10 years in various roles.
When appearing at Ipswich District Court on Wednesday, December 8, Hann was ordered to carry out a nine month suspended prison sentence.
The sentence will hang over the dad’s head for three years.
