But those plans are now up in the air, with Hockey Queensland CEO Alison Lyons confirming a decision would be made following Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk’s Covid announcements on Wednesday morning (June 30).

“Hockey Queensland will make a decision on the U13 State Championships with in the next 24 hours. With the lockdowns pending to end on Friday we want to give the championships every chance to proceed,” Ms Lyons said.

“However we do not plan to put any association at risk with their accommodation and flight bookings. Therefore more advice will follow after the Premier’s announcement tomorrow on how we will proceed for both boys and girls championships and how this might also impact the state team selections.”
