Naked prowler captured on CCTV footage at Craignish

A Queensland woman has shared a creepy video of a naked intruder in pink piggy tails, captured on security camera inside her mum’s fenced yard. VIDEO.

A Hervey Bay woman has told of the shocking moment a naked night prowler in a pink wig was spotted on her mother’s property.

The woman, who asked to be known only by her first name, Melanie, said when she first saw the footage, she thought it was some kind of prank.

Melanie was in Brisbane when she was sent the clip, which had been taken by CCTV cameras in the backyard of her mother’s home on Peterson Rd, Craignish.

Her mother was home alone at the time when a male wearing only shoes and a bright pink wig in pigtails was captured walking along the backyard deck, penis exposed about 4am Thursday.

In the footage, he can be seen creeping along carrying a long object in one hand.

When Melanie saw the start of the footage about 5.30am, she thought “what’s mum doing with something pink on her head”.

But she soon realised the creepy truth.

A naked prowler was captured on CCTV footage on a Craignish property.

The intruder had scaled the property’s six-foot-high fences to get inside.

Melanie said while both she and her mum could now see the humorous side of the situation (as did many others when the footage was shared on social media this week with some saying a person matching the description had been seen at Woolworths and Central Avenue Plaza this week) it was still eerie to know a stranger, likely in an altered state, had trespassed on her mother’s property.

Melanie said she was comforted by knowing there was a great community in Craignish and her mum was surrounded by great neighbours.

One of those neighbours had called the police and had told them about the incident and the CCTV footage, Melanie said.

She said she had initially installed the cameras so she could keep an eye on her dog while she was at work, but it had come in handy since her mum was now living alone.

Police have been contacted for comment.
