A man has been flown to Bundaberg Hospital with back pain after being thrown from his jetski while riding on the western side of K’gari.

Emergency crews were called to Waddy Point, near the island’s northern end, about 11.51am.

A QAS spokeswoman said the man, of unknown age, hit a wave and was thrown overboard.

He was treated by paramedics before being flown to hospital.

It was the third incident on the island requiring emergency aid these holidays.

Three days before Christmas, on December 22, a boy suffered scratches and bruising when a dingo lunged at him while he was knee-boarding at Eurong.

On Boxing Day a man was flown from Coongul Creek campgrounds after suffering burns from radiator fluid.
