Queensland police seek public assistance on missing Chinchilla man, Sidney Clarke

Queensland police have started a land and air search after locating the 79-year-old’s abandoned car after he went missing on Monday.

Police are continuing their search for a Chinchilla man who has been missing since Monday, May 29.

Authorities said that 79-year-old Sidney Clarke’s car was located abandoned on the side of Stockyard Rd Arakula on Wednesday but the trailer that was previously attached to the car was located on Chinchilla Wondai Rd near Durong with a shredded tyre.

Mr Clarke was believed to be driving his silver Jeep Cherokee with Victorian Registration NRM093 in the Chinchilla CBD on Monday afternoon but had been traveling north to Durong.

Police have since launched a land and air search of the area, as their concerns have increased for the man’s welfare due to a medical condition he has which may cause confusion and disorientation.

Mr Clarke is approximately 170cm tall with short grey hair and a grey beard.
