Top performing North Burnett NAPLAN schools revealed for past 5 years

Analysis of five years worth of data has revealed the North Burnett’s best performing NAPLAN schools. See which schools received top marks.

Monto State High School and St Joseph’s School are the top performing NAPLAN schools in North Burnett.

An independent analysis of five years of NAPLAN results has revealed the schools which consistently performed the best in the Year 5 and Year 9 tests between 2017 and 2021.

During that period, St Joseph’s School, in Gayndah, had higher Year 5 yearly results than any other school in the North Burnett, scoring an average of 2487.5 each year.

Gayndah State School was the second best with an average score of 2403.5, while St Therese’s Catholic Primary School in Monto was the third with 2370.8.

The top performing Year 9 school was Monto State High School where the average yearly result over the five years was 2842.

Monto State High School also has a dedicated sporting team including Prue Dow (cricket), Melissa Birch and Zarah Smith (volleyball), and Tarah Staines (cricket and volleyball).

Burnett State College in Gayndah was the second with an average score of 2803.3, followed by Mundubbera State School with an average score of 2761.0.

To determine how each school performed between 2017 and 2021, their average scores for each year were combined and the yearly average found.

Special schools, schools with fewer than 20 students enrolled in either year, and schools that did not report any results for NAPLAN subjects in either year were excluded from the analysis.

The figures were independently compiled from the Federal Government‘s MySchool website.
