A teenager was flown to hospital after a horror crash with a ute and truck caused his car to roll from a major highway, and left him trapped with serious injuries.

A teenager has been taken to hospital in a serious condition following a crash with a semi-trailer at Ideraway, north of Gayndah.

The teen was left with a serious head injury when his four-wheel drive collided with the truck on the Burnett Highway and Ideraway Road, sending his car rolling and him trapped his inside.

Emergency crews were called to the scene just before 2.30pm.

The teen was treated at the scene before being transported to Gayndah Hospital.

The patient was treated for multiple injuries, including to his head, before being flown to the Royal Brisbane and Woman's Hospital.

The teen arrived at Brisbane in a serious but stable condition.

The driver of the semi-trailer appeared to be uninjured.
