Bizarre road rules that carry big fines

A South Burnett dad has been charged by police after a 14-year-old child was found driving a truck along Chinchilla-Wondai Road.

Police pulled over the prime mover at Durong on Sunday morning after noticing the driver looked suspiciously young, a Queensland Police spokeswoman said.

The teenage boy was stopped and his dad was called out to the scene, where the man allegedly told officers he’d asked his son to move the truck.

The 45-year-old man was charged with a string of offences, including permitting another person to drive while unlicensed and uninsured, and driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle.

The father is due to appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on June 23.
