Tractor company Mahindra will open a new outlet in Bundaberg on Saturday, September 7.
The Barolin Street site is the third location to be opened up by the company in the past four years, following Gympie in 2018 and Hervey Bay in 2020.
Manager and mechanic Zane Bernardin said Bundaberg had a large agricultural population, and Mahindra wanted to be able to help local people in key farming areas.
Mr Bernardin has a strong farming background including spending his youth helping his grandfather on his Childers property.
“I grew up on a farm in Gympie. I have strong ties to the farming industry,” he said.
He stepped into machinery sales at the age of 2o, and established himself as a salesman in Gympie and was running his first dealership by 21.
Now a Bundaberg resident, Mr Bernardin said there were big plans for the new Mahindra location, including an on-site workshop.
“We are looking to carry more stock and as the business expands we are going to look at hiring diesel fitters.”
The new location also strives to offer what Mr Bernardin called “silent achieving” customer support through on site servicing, delivery services, tow trucks to assist with any potential breakdowns and a strong supply of parts.
Mr Bernardin said business was already booming, with all but two of the tractors on the sale lot already sold.
“We’ve been getting really good feedback from our customers, which is great, we just want to make sure customers are happy with their product,” he said.
Mr Bernardin hopes to connect further with the Bundaberg community at the grand opening on Saturday, which will include a barbecue and Hitz 93.9 broadcast.
