A high density housing complex has been proposed for Welch Street at Elliott Heads, as a relocatable home park and aged care accommodation.
Three hundred and thirty dwellings have been proposed for the site, along with a pool, clubhouse, community gardens and walking track.

The single story dwellings will be either two or three bedrooms, and available in 10 different architectural styles.
The development is listed as part of larger South-Beach community master plan, which is said to be the biggest single development in the Bundaberg region’s history.
The South-Beach plan includes a sprawling community area, with a retail centre, medical centre, extension to the existing school, commercial area and tourist park.
The proposed 330 dwelling retirement resort and aged care home, is the first stage of the massive development.

“It will provide a safe and attractive living environment that will occur comfortably alongside existing and planned future lower density residential activities,” the proposal states.
The retirement resort will be managed by Oasis Communities, who “maintains a strong focus on over 50s manufactured home estates.”
“In addition to housing that has been appropriately designed for aged persons, the community is supported by a range of high-quality support services, amenities and facilities to encourage activity and social interaction,” the proposal said.
The development will be only a few short streets away from the Elliot Head beaches, and will back onto the Elliott Heads State School.
Future residents will be available to purchase the homes, but not the land on which the home will be built.
When speaking about the South-Beach plans director Helen Blackburn said the development will bring a new and fresh range of services to the Elliot Heads area.
“The groundbreaking is such a brilliant event for the Elliott Heads community to celebrate,” she said.
Saunders Havill Group generated the proposal on behalf of Cape Bonavista Pty Ltd ATF Cape Bonavista Unit Trust to develop the application.
