Charges laid over fatal Biggenden shed fire

As police continue to investigate the alleged murder of a Biggenden baker and his daughter, it can be revealed a Holden Barina van at the centre of the investigation was allegedly recently spray painted white.

An image of the vehicle, which had a distinctive solar panel strapped to its roof, was released by police after Maryborough’s Kristen Leslie Olsen, 24, was charged with two counts of murder and one count of arson.

About 12.20pm on December 20, police were called to a shed fire at a Fenwicks Rd property at Biggenden.

Detectives have released an image of a vehicle in an appeal for information in relation to a homicide investigation at Biggenden.

Officers located 54-year-old Todd Mooney and his 10-year-old daughter Kirra deceased inside.

It is understood the Holden Barina had allegedly undergone a colour change weeks before the alleged Biggenden murders from its original red, with patches of the previous colour evident in footage released by the police.

A spokeswoman from the Queensland Police Service said on Wednesday that no comment could be made as the matter was currently before the courts.

Investigators appeal to anyone who may have seen the vehicle between 10am and 2pm between Biggenden and Ban Ban Springs to come forward.

Anyone with information can contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or Policelink on 131 444.

On Monday when the matter was heard before Maryborough Magistrates Court, it was also revealed Ms Olsen was facing three counts of arson and one of stealing in relation to a separate incident.

Scant details in the court documents reveal Ms Olsen had been living in a Maryborough caravan park at the time of her arrest.

The separate alleged arson in Tinana happened at a property on Eatonvale Rd.

According to court documents, a Nissan Bus, Essential Caravan and carport were destroyed in the fire.

The stealing charge relates to the alleged theft of clothing from the Ban Ban Springs Road House on December 20, the documents state.
