A spokesperson for the Queensland Police Service says the victim of a stabbing attack at Bargara on Monday is receiving treatment for non-life threatening injuries and “going okay”.

Earlier this week, police charged 18-year-old Emily Anna Rose Cassar, alleging she entered the rear shed of a Bargara property and repeatedly stabbed an 18-year-old Kepnock man before fleeing.

It is believed the two knew each other.

“The victim and offender were known to each other but not in a relationship,” police said.

The police spokesperson said despite the harrowing incident, charges of a violent nature were not particularly common in the region.

Cassar was granted bail and is due to appear in Bundaberg Magistrates Court for mention on December 9.
