It has been alleged by police Mr Kurtzer was a passenger in the white Holden Commodore allegedly being driven by McCann when it lost a wheel and rolled into a drainage ditch.

It’s alleged the young passenger was thrown from the car in the crash, and died as a result of his injuries.

A bail application was granted during McCann’s court appearance to allow him time to make arrangements for his young family.

The sentence for the charges is expected to proceed on July 1, 2024.
