Corey Kurtzer remembered as a good friend and kind local

Heartbroken friends and family are grappling with the tragic death of an ‘amazing young man’ in a horror Bruce Hwy crash at the weekend.

Isis teen Corey Kurtzer is being remembered as a beloved friend and family member, a hardworking employee and a “gorgeous soul”.

The 19-year-old tragically died on Saturday, August 13, when a vehicle he was a passenger in lost a tyre on the Bruce Highway at Booyal.

Bundaberg‘s social media was flooded with condolences in the wake of the ensuing fatal crash, with those who knew him speaking highly of his character and describing a young man who loved fishing, horses and the outdoors.

Samantha Dickson was one of many who left a tribute online.

“Condolences to his family and friends,” she said.

“I can not begin to imagine how you are feeling right now.

“So thankful to have been lucky enough to have known this kind and polite young man - always good for a laugh and a joke - taken from this earth too soon - you were a great friend to many.”

Peta Sykes described him as a “kind, loving soul taken way too early”.

“He will be greatly missed by all his friends.”

Katelyn Smoothy also knew Corey, saying he was “an amazing young man” who would be missed.

Sophie Otto commented, as many had, on Corey‘s warm smile.

“What a heart of gold you had and such a bright bubbly smile, gone way too soon. Gonna miss you heaps,” she said.

“We all miss you buddy, fly high,” wrote Amber Christensen.

Police are continuing to investigate the crash.
