Identical twins who film porn together claim backlash from family isn’t enough to stop them as a lawyer says it might breach community values but does not break incest law.

April and Amelia Maddison, 20, joined adult subscription platform OnlyFans two years ago and say they’ve been cut off by some family, but what they were doing wasn’t incestuous.

The twins said their content consisted of “solo things next to each other” and threesomes, allowing them to “legally” create their content.

Section 222 of the Criminal Code states the offence of incest is if a person engages in penile intercourse with a person’s offspring or direct relative including a sibling.

Senior criminal lawyer of Potts Lawyers and accredited specialist in criminal law Joe Wicking said the sisters were within the law.

“The way the legislation works and operates may not necessarily be keeping in line with community vales. (But) the activity they’re engaging with on the face of it isn’t criminal,” he said.

Amelia said: “We don’t do anything to each other.”

April added: “It’s illegal and OnlyFans (flag) that as incest so we don’t do that. It’s basically what you think.

“We also film threesomes with men. We don’t interact with each other we let the guy take the lead.”

The girls said it was hard for loved ones to process them filming explicit content together.

“We’ve had family members who have expressed their strong dislike for our job and that has resulted in no contact,” Amelia said.

Secrets behind how to make money on OnlyFans

“But once we show them we do make a lot of money – we are going to try and help them out as much as possible.”

Originally from Melbourne, the siblings moved to the Gold Coast to pursue adult content careers. They have online followings of more than 800,000 across their Instagram accounts.

Stripping in Melbourne at 18, the girls said they joined OnlyFans through clients requesting their content.

They now claim to have made $6 million in two years – which they say has enabled them to support loved ones and ease the cost-of-living burden.

“The cost of living right now is through the roof, so we like to help our family as much as we can,” Amelia said.

“We’re so lucky we are in a position where we are able to help, especially though the financial crisis everyone is going through – we are more than happy and more than blessed to give back.”

The sisters said they would not have joined the platform as solo creators: “Twins are more interesting than a solo creator,” April said.

“That’s why it was easier saying yes to this.”

Amelia added: “I would have hesitations, having a twin definitely makes having this job a lot easier – we’re a team, each other’s therapist, if we are doing this solo it would be harder.”
