Two porn stars targeting male Schoolies to join them to make explicit content have responded to outrage by saying the teens are consenting adults and no one is breaking any laws.

British expat Bonnie Blue, 24, and Brisbane-based Leilani May, 25, have been asking for Schoolies celebrating graduation in Surfers Paradise to film X-rated scenes for use on their OnlyFans web pages. OnlyFans creators then monetise their content by having subscribers pay to watch it.

The call out for Schoolies sex partners by Ms Blue - who lives in the Hilton Surfers Paradise in the Schoolies party zone - and Ms May has sparked outrage online with various critics calling it “disgusting”.

Ms May said: “These people are 18 – they’re consenting adults.”

Ms Blue added: “A lot of people have an issue with the fact these people are 18. The negative comments are like, ‘What if they’re 17?’. They’re not 17, we check ID, we have a process – they are consenting and they are signing consent forms.

“As for any ‘barely legal’ comments – there’s no in-between with the law, when it comes to legal age, it’s black and white. The fact people are trying to pretend there’s a grey area and go ‘what if’ – squish your what if because that’s not the case.

“People that have an issue with age haven’t got an issue with us – they’ve got an issue with the law.”

The pair said the idea came from the Schoolies themselves weeks prior to the rite-of-passage celebrations.

“We started getting messages, ‘I’ll be here (the Gold Coast) for Schoolies, let’s film content,’ and we laughed – we only filmed with established creators and then thought ‘Why not’,” Ms Blue said.

Ms May said she was “hesitant” at first but the reaction from Schoolie participants had been “overwhelmingly positive” and “respectful”.

Schoolies.com CEO Matt Lloyd who oversees accommodation packages said: “Our advice to all Schoolies is, you deserve to celebrate with your friends, but don’t make a decision that could have negative implications on your family, your reputation and your future prospects.”

A spokesperson for Red Frogs volunteers who flood Surfers Paradise dishing out Red Frogs sweet, cooking pancakes and being on hand to help declined to comment on the porn stars.

Both Ms May and Ms Blue said any participating Schoolies went through stringent ID checks, with IDs copied, attached to consent forms and were required to be sober.

“A lot of the comments we’ve got are ‘You’re going after them, they’ve been drinking and there’s drugs involved’ – there’s not,” Ms May said.

“The first thing we do is we tell them they can’t drink until after filming. They have to be sober – they’re signing legal documents.”

The pair said participants can choose keep their face out of shot, citing comfort as “key”.

“It’s entirely their call and what they’re comfortable with. They take part in the filming, we practice safe sex, and we as sex workers are checked every two weeks,” Ms May said.

“They get a copy of the full edited video.

“If they don’t want to do it, they don’t reach out – it’s their choice.”

The State Member for party suburb Surfers Paradise says “it’s a very sad thing” to see OnlyFans content creators targeting teen Schoolie males for explicit scenes.

Member for Surfers Paradise John-Paul Langbroek said while participating Schoolies may be of legal age, long-term consequences need to be raised.

“There are potentially going to be some long-term consequences for them they may not understand at the time, or there may be long-term ramifications,” Mr Langbroek said.

“We talk about all types of behaviour at Schoolies and in the lead up to – that’s why we try to include it into the school curriculum about taking care of each other.

“When you’re talking about potentially filming content for OnlyFans or doing something that you feel could effect your future career prospects and relationships, it’s a very sad thing to see happening, but you’re going to have people that just don’t understand that.”

Bond University Head of School (Psychology) Dr Ahmed Moustafa, who holds a doctorate of cognitive science said while the OnlyFans creators “probably know what they’re doing legally” the prefrontal cortex of the Schoolies in question had not yet fully developed.

“Different parts of the prefrontal cortex keep developing into the 20s,” Dr Moustafa said.

“That part of the brain controls risk taking behaviour.”

Dr Moustafa said there were different factors hindering potential risk taking behaviour during Schoolies including age, group dynamics and being in a holiday environment.

Dr Moustafa added: “Short term they may think it’s good, but in the long term they may not be happy with what they have done.”
