The Gold Coast is on the cusp of becoming a high-end shopping mecca with new luxury names arriving en masse. Read who and where.

The Gold Coast is becoming a mecca for high-end fashion with a plethora of designer boutiques bound for Pacific Fair in a city first.

July will see fashion houses Burberry and Balenciaga along with watch manufacturer Breitling and Longines open their debut Gold Coast boutiques.

The luxury retailer line up comes off the back of French fashion house Celine, and French jewellery brand FRED opening their inaugural Queensland locations at Pacific Fair in the first half of the year.

Pacific Fair marketing manager Kate Halpin said as the Gold Coast transformed into a city of international commerce, it provided a platform for luxury retail offerings to expand.

“It’s always exciting to open the doors to new stores and by adding more incredible first-to-market retailers to our mix, we can continue to showcase the best of global fashion and lifestyle,” she said.

Ms Halpin said the shopping centre’s leasing strategies have evolved to adjust to market conditions and customer demands as the city “transforms”.

“Our luxury services go well beyond retailers – we offer a free in-centre taxi service for all our customers, which operates daily and allows us to drive shoppers to their favourite stores,” she said.

“We have our complimentary visitors lounge that offers a comfortable space for shoppers to use at their leisure.”

The luxe retailers join the likes of Bvlgari, Tiffany and Co, Rolex, Hermes, Louis Vuitton, Saint Laurent, Versace and Prada in the centre’s luxury retail end.

Experience Gold Coast CEO John Warn said the city continued to solidify its status as the go-to destination for travellers seeking unique and high-end experiences.

“The Gold Coast’s continual evolution of products and experiences is what sets our destination a part in an exceptionally competitive travel market,” he said.

“Having major global brands establish a presence here, celebrated restaurateurs launch unique dining spots like Kirra Beach House, and five-star accommodations such as The Mondrian breaking ground, is a significant endorsement.

“The growing market for premium and luxury offerings remains a key focus for the Gold Coast.

“Our city is uniquely positioned to attract high-end travellers through bespoke luxury experiences, private tours, and personalised services.”
