Tributes flow for Gin Gin crash victim Blake Hogue-Kokles
The girlfriend of a man killed in a horror crash near Gin Gin has paid tribute to his life, saying he “wore his heart on his sleeve”.

The girlfriend of a man who was tragically killed in a crash on Christmas Eve has paid tribute to his life, saying he had “left a mark in all our hearts”.
Blake Hogue-Kokles, 28, was killed when the Honda Civic he was driving collided with a truck on the Bruce Highway near Gin Gin.
It is believed the incident happened just north of Drinan Rd about 4.30pm.
Mr Hogue-Kokles died of his injuries at the scene.
The truck driver suffered minor physical injuries.
His girlfriend Mel Rodgers shared her memories of her beloved partner on Sunday.
She said Mr Hogue-Kokles “wore his heart on his sleeve”.
“He was in love with his cars, mainly his Holden utes,” Ms Rodgers said.
“I was lucky enough to have sent the last eight months of his life with him.
“He left a mark on all our hearts.”
Ms Rodgers said he was driving home to see his beloved grandparents for Christmas.
“I’m going to miss him like crazy.
“He is my other half and always brought a smile to my face.”
Ms Rodgers said Mr Hogue-Kokles had lost his father, Todd, seven years ago.
She said while nothing would bring him back, he was with his father now “racing on forever”.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen either vehicle in the area at the time, or who may have relevant dashcam footage to contact them.
Investigations are continuing.
The Bruce Highway is closed in both directions, with lengthy delays expected.
It comes after a serious crash near Banana claimed the life of a 19-year-old on Saturday.
Initial information indicates a silver Nissan Navara dual cab ute was travelling north on the Leichhardt Highway about 8.45am.
The ute was about 30km north of Banana before it left the highway and struck a tree.
A passing motorist stopped to begin first aid before emergency services arrived, however the 19-year-old driver from Blackwater died at the scene.
