A man visiting family on the Gold Coast over the weekend might have witnessed something from out of this world when he looked out a skyscraper window to see what he believes was a UFO hovering above the Q1 tower.
John Gordon said he was taking a photo of the impressive Gold Coast view from a floor high in the Mantra building on Cavill Ave when the mystery photobomber made its appearance.
“I snapped some pictures of the view and when looked at them later, there is what seems to be a flying saucer above the Q1 tower,” Mr Gordon said.
Mr Gordon said he did not notice the flying saucer when he took the image, and that another photo taken by his niece confirmed the strange sighting.
“My niece took a snap of me and my cousin at the same window and in the background it shows up again as a dark solid object which debunks the idea that it‘s a reflection and is a real UFO,” Mr Gordon said.
“I believed it was a UFO when I first saw it in the photo, but when I saw the second photo I thought I could actually prove this is real.”
The strange object is among a string of recent sightings across Australia.
In June, a number of people took to social media to question a perfect string of bright lights in the sky, although they were later revealed to be a part of Elon Musk’s Starlink Satellite Train.
In the same month, a number of bizarre UFO sightings and reports flooded social media in Bundaberg, but an expert told the Bundaberg NewsMail the sightings were more likely to be a variety of lightning during a storm front.
The Courier-Mail has contacted UFO experts to investigate Mr Gordon’s photos.
