Elon Musk’s Starlink satellite train visible from across South East Queensland

A mysterious light show that lit up the pre-dawn skies over South East Queensland this morning has been identified.

Early risers in South East Queensland have reacted with shock and awe after a strange chain of lights lit up the pre-dawn sky on Thursday.

The mysterious light show was visible just after 5am, stunning onlookers who witnessed the spectacle above Brisbane, the Gold and Sunshine coasts.

“WTF?!” was the common reaction among many who saw the constellation-like line of lights stretching across the sky.

“What the heck are these lights in the sky?” a listener named Sarah told Sunshine Coast radio station Hot 91.1 FM.

“The two at the end moved away from the line and the rest descended and disappeared. Happened around 5.20am.”

Another listener named Bruce told the station he saw the row of lights go over his house at Yandina.

“Think there would have been about 20 in a straight line. Evenly spaced. No noise, no other lights like on planes. Strange.”

Rick Schmitt posted a pic to Facebook of ‘strange lights in sky over Deagon racetrack’.

Followers quickly identified the ‘UFO’ as Elon Musk’s Starlink satellite train.

The tech billionaire’s SpaceX has launched hundreds of satellites (including 53 last month) in chains just metres apart as part of Starlink’s plan to provide fast broadband internet to people in rural and remote areas and urban black spots.
