UFO spotted over Bundaberg

They’re not birds, they’re not planes, but something was shining down through unusual cloud formations over the skies of Bundaberg when one woman snapped away, not realising what she had captured for almost two years ago.

The realisation come as another Bundaberg woman revealed seeing a strange object in the skies over the city just a week ago.

After seeing the story and a question on social media about whether locals had seen anything similar, another local, who preferred not to be named, said she had been searching through old photos of skies and sunsets to find a new Facebook cover image when something stood out.

“I posted this photo of a really strange cloud over Bundy on July 26, 2020,” she said.

The Bundaberg woman said these light objects were not part of the cloud formation.

“Yesterday on looking at it again I saw the two little white dots in the middle of the cloud.

“When expanded you can see that they are definitely not part of the cloud formation.

“I had another look at the other pictures on my phone and found the dot in another two taken a few minutes later.”

The woman said she recalled that at the time other locals had noticed the strange cloud formations and had said it came over their homes on that day.

The Bundaberg Observatory’s Lonnie Smilas said the images could show plasma or ball lightning, though it was very rare.

“In all probability looking at that storm front it is more than likely a plasma type lightning that takes the shape of a ball or boomerang,” he said.

“They are very rare but have been reported approximately two weeks ago in the Kingaroy area by a pilot.”

Mr Smilas said ball lightning was often seen for around 20-30 seconds at a time.

He said any actual built object would have been in a lot of trouble due to its position in the stormfront.

Last week the first woman, who also preferred not to be named, told the Bundaberg NewsMail she had been driving near the Southside Central shopping complex at around 8.45am when she saw a large, circular object hovering in the skies.

She said she was so amazed by what she saw, she turned the news on that night to see if anyone else had been talking about, but to her surprise, there was no discussion.

“Someone else had to have seen it,” she said.

The woman said the object was circular, light on top and darker on the bottom, and that if she had to guess, it was around the size of two vans.

She said there was no way it was a drone or any other known object and that it disappeared quickly once it went.

Agnes Water extra-terrestrial expert and author Mary Rodwell said she believed it sounded like the orb spotted by the woman could be a craft.

“There are so many sightings these days and many taking photos of them,” she said.

Ms Rodwell said crafts were seen”all the time”.

“I have so many (photos) sent to me and some are extremely clear,” she said, adding that the Pentagon in the US had confirmed that unidentified aerial phenomenon were real.

“I get emails every day from people that not only have seen them, but have interacted with them.”

On Tuesday night, Bundaberg woman Donna Gutzke came forward to share images she took of an object in the skies over the city.

She said the object had disappeared before reappearing in another part of the sky.

Last year, locals took to prominent UFO groups online to tell of strange sightings in the Wide Bay.

One UFO was captured over Woodgate, while another local said they saw a green, triangular object hovering over South Bundaberg in 2021.

A man even reported spotting an object resembling a UFO under the water in the Burnett River in the heart of the CBD.

For anyone in the region witnessing a chain of strange lights over South East Queensland on Thursday, however, there is an earthly explanation.

A mysterious light show seen over Brisbane, the Gold and Sunshine Coasts was the work of Elon Musk‘s Starlink satellite train.

5. Childhood sighting still haunts
