The “K” in well-known Brisbane hospitality operation STK Group, behind popular Fortitude Valley venues such as Hellenika, SK Steak & Oyster and Sushi Room, Kelvin Andrews has officially left the company.

Mr Andrews, who joined the group in 2019 as a chef with the launch of bustling steakhouse SK and worked across Sushi Room, as well as James St eatery Sunshine, handed in his resignation this week citing “personal reasons”.

While Mr Andrews’ initial formed part of the group’s name, he was not an equity shareholder or owner in the business, with STK owned entirely by founder Simon Gloftis’s Gloftis Investments.

When contacted by The Courier-Mail, Mr Gloftis remained tight-lipped on the reason behind the shock departure, only saying: “He (Mr Andrews) handed in his resignation and I accepted the resignation”.

Mr Andrews said he was “taking some personal time” and hoped to be back at the group one day.
