A family owned Queensland winery has been named among the best destinations in the world on travel website Tripadvisor – taking out an elusive Travellers’ Choice award.
Ballandean Estate Wines in the state’s Granite Belt was recognised for consistently receiving great reviews on Tripadvisor over the past 12 months, placing them among the top 10 per cent of all listings on the global website.
“We live and breathe wine,” says Ballandean Estate’s fourth generation co-owner Leeanne Puglisi-Gangemi.
“Our passion shines through in all that we do. When people walk into our cellar door, we just want to show them the best time and, of course, our sensational wines.”
The award celebrates the top-notch experience guests receive at the winery’s cellar door, which includes wine tastings and a wine lounge.
Chief Growth Officer at Tripadvisor John Boris said it was a remarkable achievement to receive such stellar traveller reviews in an industry that has been plagued by issues since Covid.
“Earning a Travellers’ Choice Award demonstrates that you have provided great experiences to those who matter most: your guests,” he said.
“With changing expectations, continued labour shortages, and rising costs, this is no easy feat, and I am continually impressed with the hospitality industry’s resilience and ability to adapt.”
